In June 2020, the Bank of Thailand (BOT) launched a CBDC Business Prototype Project in collaboration with SCG and Digital Ventures Company (DV), focusing on supply-chain financing. By using programmable CBDCs, the project highlighted increased payment efficiency and flexibility for businesses. Over two years, it garnered significant business interest, validating the technology and suggesting potential for invoice tokenisation. This roundtable presented BOT's CBDC project and sought industry insights for an upcoming extension project.
