Richard is the head of Business Resilience at Holcim, looking after the prevention and response to crises across a global portfolio of over 4,000 assets. Crises include conflict to Covid, natural disasters to criminal acts. A critical focus is to ensure that the people and assets are resilient to physical risk, applying a risk based approach to ensure that appropriate controls, response capability and adaptation planning is in place. and aligned to requirements including CSRD and EU Taxonomy. Richard originally trained as a biologist, specialising in intestinal parasitology, before moving into risk and resilience. He has previously worked at Reed Elsevier and Rio Tinto.
