As Director of Capital Markets Strategy at Swift, Qian focuses on the future blueprint of digital assets and its impact to financial services. Previously, she served as Director of Business Solutions & Advisory at Fireblocks, where she guided financial institutions and their leaders, on digital assets adoption. Prior to that, she was a Senior Manager of International Strategies at London Stock Exchange Group, where her role included delivering the Shanghai-London Stock Connect, a groundbreaking initiative for cross-listing and trading UK and Chinese blue-chip stocks. Qian began her career in OTC derivatives at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley before moving into Sales and Marketing at London Clearing House.
With a Master’s in Management from LSE and a Bachelor’s in Economics from UIBE, Qian is also the founder and CEO of Chinese Women in the City, a professional network empowering over 700 members and 5,000 subscribers.

Digital money, from central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) to stablecoins and tokenized deposits, have promised to simplify cross-border payments, accounting and record-keeping, as well as to improve financial inclusion on a global scale. Despite these benefits, digital money projects remain in a largely experimental stage and widespread adoption remains limited. This is in part due to challenges such as cybersecurity concerns and regulatory uncertainty to technical limitations, such as a lack of interoperability.
