The Fintech Regulatory Futures Index: An Evidence-Based Approach to Assessing the Effectiveness of Fintech Regulation

GFTN is partnering with The Fintech Foundation to develop the Fintech Regulatory Futures Index: a rigorous, evidence-based tool to assess and compare the effectiveness of fintech regulation across jurisdictions worldwide, building a shared language for fintech regulatory excellence across five pillars. 

The Index will provide governments, regulators, industry, and researchers with a credible, transparent, public-interest focused benchmark to understand how well regulatory frameworks support responsible fintech innovation, consumer protection, market access and resilience and financial inclusion. The Index aims to create a structured basis for peer exchange, mutual learning, and policy development without prescribing a single model, supporting jurisdictions in understanding their regulatory posture in a global context. 

This Roundtable will convene the Executive Council of the Index to provide a high-level showcase of the emerging draft methodology for scoring fintech regulatory environments, grounded in objective evidence rather than reputation or perception, and collect feedback from relevant stakeholders.
