Sunil Sabharwal is a highly successful, experienced fintech executive, and currently is an Operating Partner with the Blackstone Growth Equity Fund. In addition to Securitize, he is also on the boards of Thunes, TookiTaki (both Singapore) and the newly established Botswana Sovereign Wealth Fund. Mr Sabharwal was Chairman of Earthport, a regulated cross-border payments company, which he sold to Visa. He also served as the US board member at the IMF across two administrations, a position requiring Senate confirmation, and received US Treasury’s Distinguished Service Award. Mr Sabharwal was also Chairman of Ogone, a leading European payment services company, subsequently sold to Ingenico. Before setting up his own firm, he had a career with GE Capital, First Data Corporation, the EBRD, Coopers and Lybrand and GTE.
Mr Sabharwal has a deep engagement with the Olympic movement as a civic leader, and is currently President of the International Fair Play Committee, one of the longest standing International Olympic Committee recognized organizations, is member of the Executive Board of World Athletics, and previously served in the same function at the International Fencing Federation (FIE).
