CEO & Founder, FairSquareLabs | Korea Digital Asset Custody | Kloint

Jake Joonhong Kim is a pioneering technology entrepreneur spearheading the on-chain transition of South Korea’s financial industry. Since founding FairSquare Lab (FSL) in 2018, he has maintained an unwavering philosophy: focusing strictly on integrating blockchain technology into the traditional institutional financial sector, rather than being distracted by the speculative virtual asset market.

Under his leadership, FSL has established itself as the premier infrastructure technology provider for Korea's on-chain finance. In 2020, Jake founded Korea Digital Asset Custody (KDAC), which achieved a major industry milestone by becoming the first custody provider in Korea to secure a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license following the implementation of the specific financial information act. He subsequently established Kloint, a specialized on-chain security and intelligence firm, further solidifying the robust ecosystem required for institutional digital assets.

His commitment to building foundational financial infrastructure is evident through FSL's active participation in landmark national initiatives. FSL is a key technology provider for the KDX Consortium—a Korea Exchange (KRX)-led over-the-counter (OTC) market for token securities (STO) and fractional investments—as well as the UniKA project, a KRW-pegged stablecoin alliance involving more than ten major Korean banks.

Complementing his extensive industry expertise, Jake holds an MBA from IE Business School and is currently in the final stages of completing his Ph.D. in Finance at Korea University. Through continuous innovation and a steadfast vision, he remains at the absolute forefront of transforming South Korea's financial landscape for the digital age.
